Tournaments
- The expert tournament is an invitational 10-player round robin. The best players with the Belgian nationality compete for the national crown.
- The open tournament is open to players that are members of the Belgian Chess Federation and have a valid Belgian FIDE ID. It welcomes players at all levels, young and old. It is played according to the ‘swiss system’. Final standings are proclaimed according to categories of strength and gender.

All rounds will be played in the large refectory of the Sint-Gummaruscollege. For directions, see Location
Playing format and schedule
- There are 9 rounds played at a rate of one game per day. Round 9 starts at 10 AM. The other rounds start at 2 PM.
- Time control: 90 minutes + 30 minutes after 40 moves + 30 seconds increment per move from move 1.
